A winter engagement shoot in Surrey…
I got to spend this beautiful foggy, winter morning with April and Mark. They both love going on walks together, so we did exactly that for their engagement shoot in the heath lands of Chobham Common. It was the perfect excuse for us to explore this nature reserve and I can’t wait to do another shoot there in the summer! April and Mark are both such sweethearts and braved the cold with lots of cuddles and chugs of mulled wine! Their wedding will take place in the gorgeous Tracy Park Hotel in Bath and I am so excited to capture their special day.
Tips for Winter Engagement Shoots:
Winter mornings truly provide gorgeous light, perfect for soft and romantic portraits. Aspects like fog or frosty surroundings can really add to the atmosphere, so it’s definitely worth planning with the weather forecast in mind, although it’s not always reliable. We all love warm summer days but there is nothing like a winter morning walk with the crisp, fresh air. A blanket to wrap each other up not only makes for the perfect accessory, but also keeps you warm! We definitely managed to make the most of it with April and Mark’s winter engagement shoot.
We had also planned to take some pictures in their flat. It seemed really fitting as April said her idea of a perfect date would just be her and Mark spending time together in their home. It’s always great when I get to personalise each engagement shoot in a way that my couples find meaning in it beyond having a collection of pretty pictures.
